On Friday the 22nd of August some of Porritt seniors competed in the Spooner Shield tournament, which involves schools from Tamatea, Greenmeadows, Taradale and Puketapu. The sports for the Spooner Shield were: boys and girls Soccer, Rugby, Netball and Hockey. The rugby boys won 3 games out of 7. The soccer boys won no games but played well. The Hockey players won 2, lost 2 and drew 2, coming second overall. The soccer girls also came second. The year five and 6 netball teams won 5 games and drew two.
